set one up, I thought Hong Kong would naturally be

referred to it. I never suggested a special

Committee on Hong Kong currency. What I had in mind

was a Committee with Sir J.Campbell as Chairman, possibly Mr. Ezechiel, Mr. Waley and myself as Members, with the addition of a representative of the Department interested in the particular question

which came up.
